Staff at our operations office in Pulborough got into the Christmas spirit on Friday 14th December by donning their festive pullovers for Christmas Jumper Day in aid of Save the Children. The building was awash with brightly coloured knits, and as a result we managed to raise money for an important cause.
Our annual Christmas celebration at St. Ermin's Hotel in London on Saturday 24th November proved to be a fantastic evening. Our legendary Christmas raffle included prizes such as West End show tickets, a Crystal Maze experience and Premier League tour. Our QHSE Administrator Beth Burrage scooped the top prize of a four-night stay at the Desert Springs Resort in Spain.
Our Christmas celebrations mark the end of another successful year for us here at Sowga, which saw the launch of our new website and a reinvigorated marketing programme to boost our online visibility in the marketplace. We're delighted with our new-look brand which more closely reflects our professional and trusted reputation in a world-wide market. The response from customers and contacts has been incredible.
This year also included other significant developments, with a focus on the structural organisation of our business. We added departments such as the QHSE division, and introduced a new management model for our service teams. Service contracts are now broken into business units by geographic location and portfolio type, with each unit having a designated manager to ensure effective contract delivery. This development has driven us to look internally and externally for viable candidates to manage these units. For staff members promoted into these roles, we've provided support and training, to ensure we continue to meet and exceed contractual obligations and expectations.
Focusing on our environmental credentials, in April we invested in reducing our carbon footprint by launching a fleet of zero emission, 100% electric, New Nissan LEAF vehicles. This development was followed by the introduction of a paper-less CAFM system to reduce our paper consumption, and is part of a continuous plan to monitor and identify measures to save energy and encourage sustainability in the future.
Other notable highlights included a trip to the Facilities Show in July where we caught up with clients and suppliers to discuss some of the key issues affecting the industry, and an invitation to the BIFM awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel as guests of simPRO to celebrate another successful year in facilities management. Along with a raft of installation projects for market-leading clients, our team of professional engineers and support staff continues to expand in line with our business developments.
Over the festive period our offices will remain open from 8am to 5pm, except on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day. However, clients can rest assured that over the festive period our Out of Hours Helpdesk is on hand to deal with any issues that may arise, with direct access to our experienced engineers and duty managers who will ensure it's business as usual.
So, we'd like to take this opportunity to wish our customers and suppliers a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
