Consistently reminding us how he is now the longest serving Sowga employee, Sam has been part of the Sowga team for a whopping 23 years! Starting as a fresh faced apprentice, Sam has seen a great deal of development and growth from within the organisation into what it is today.
When Sam first started at Sowga there was only a handful of staff from administrators to engineers, with a focus on mechanical services ranging from prefabrication of pipework to the installation of complete boiler, compressor houses and pumping stations.
Sowga are now a fully integrated building services engineering company with a huge expansion of in-house engineers now providing maintenance alongside the existing installation focus.
However, installation works are still at the heart of what we do here at Sowga, with Sam now managing a team of specialist engineers capable of a wide range of mechanical and electrical works big and small.
Not just managing the team, Sam is integral in all other aspects of our projects, from site visits and client meetings, to building tenders, quotes, RAMS and CPPs. Sam is the lynchpin to providing the services required for successful project delivery, with skills around communicating and planning reinforced by a wealth of experience and knowledge.
At work Sam is always on the move, either on site reviewing the progress of a current project or scoping out new ones. Even when Sam is in the office you will find him on the move as he likes to wander around when he's on the phone to a client, colleague or contractor!
During Sam's time at Sowga he has developed into an important member of the Sowga management team, and with Sammy Bashall recently officially added to the Projects team as Assistant Project Manager, we look forward to seeing our projects division go from strength to strength.
Sam enjoys each new challenge his job presents, seeing a new project from start to finish, resolving any problems he may face along the way. He also finds the balance and variety of office work and site work rewarding as it enables him to experience different things each day, along with the different challenges they bring about.
When at home away from the busy work he does day-to-day, you might find Sam playing a relaxing game of golf, spending time with his partner and their 3 young children, watching football (sometimes even playing it), socialising with his friends or taking his dog for a nice long walk.
