Fire & Safety Manager

Overview:

We have a vacancy for a highly skilled and motivated professional, specialising in the maintenance and installation of fire & security systems in commercial premises. The position is that of manager, with the aim to build a team around this individual who will manage a team of fire and security professionals self-delivering the maintenance and installation works across the organisation.

 

Relevant Skills/Experience:

  • Qualified fire alarm technician with a wealth of experience in commercial fire detection/extinguishing systems and security systems, including: Fire Alarms, Fire Extinguishers, Intruder Alarms, Access Control & CCTV
  • Be familiar with the main makes and models of fire alarms
  • Be able to identify which grade and category of fire alarm system you need.
  • Have a good understanding of British Standard BS 5839
  • Have sound electrical knowledge
  • Level 3 award in the requirements of fire detection and fire alarm systems for buildings
  • Being an experienced fire & security engineer in the maintenance and installation of systems.
  • Good knowledge and experience of maintenance in commercial sector
  • Experience working within the planned preventative maintenance delivery industry
  • Knowledge/ experience of fire & security systems and associated controls.
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Flexible in working approach to tasks
  • Current UK driving license
  • Competent understanding and ability to arrange permits, risk assessments and method statements
  • Proactive attitude and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in providing solutions and support to end users, facilities management companies and consultants
  • Recognition of customer requirements, negotiating and providing viable solutions whilst managing and meeting customer expectations
  • To be responsible for project delivery, including planning, coordinating and scheduling
  • Understanding of financial elements for project delivery

Preferable but not required skills:

  • Be able to design a fire alarm system to meet the grade and category requirements
  • Be able to design a system to meet BS 5839 requirements
